Part of the fascination with Nepal is the diversity of experiences it offers to the traveler. There's the interesting Hindu temples and people in the cities like Katmandu and Bakhtapur, but there's also great opportunities for mountain trekking to Langtang or Everest, as well as opportunities to explore the Chitwan jungle to see tigers and rhinos. This all makes for an interesting mix.

In the cities of Nepal, religious shrines such as these are common. They are usually colorfully decorated, often smeared with various colors - sometimes looking pretty messy.
